Our hunting and fishing lodge is located in the Canterbury high country, where few people venture. Here you will find some of New Zealand's best trout fishing and alpine wilderness hunting amidst spectacular scenery.

Surrounded by 9 fishing lakes within minutes of the homestead, not to mention the rivers and creeks, the homestead provides the perfect location where fishermen are spoilt for choice. For hunters this is a great base for deer, tahr and chamois. We have the mountain country right at our doorstep and hunt both private and public land. I guarantee the first time you sight tahr moving at full speed across rocky alpine terrain, it's something you'll never forget. It's exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping adventure in pristine surroundings.

I actually grew up in this area and spent many a happy time in this homestead so there's always a sense of 'coming home' for me. This is where Dad and Grandad taught me to hunt and fish and there's nothing like that knowledge and experience when it comes to spotting and stalking those big, wily trout that inhabit the area, or securing that prized animal.

Our aim was to provide homely comfort for hunters, fishermen or those merely seeking to unwind. Even though you're a mere 1.5 hour scenic drive from Christchurch city you won't find traffic, pollution, work stress or schedules here; the only sound is the birdlife.

We offer 4WD tours, wildlife and scenic photography and guided 'off the beaten track' walks with each adventure totally designed around your individual requirements and skill level. There's also mountain biking, Lord of the Ring Tours (Fortress of Edora - the two towers), horse trekking and, heli-skiing (Mt Hutt Skifield is 40 minutes away). A heli option is available with each tour for those wanting to access areas rarely visited, or for those who prefer a heli transfer from Christchurch airport direct to the homestead.

Whatever your choice, put your feet up at the end of the day, enjoy a dose of home cooking and genuine kiwi hospitality. We'll even cook up that big trout you've just caught or serve up your venison casserole. Just be prepared to come as our guest and leave as a friend.
