About Us

Hunt/Fish Guiding New Zealand

My passion for sharing the outdoor lifestyle and New Zealand's natural beauty stems from growing up in Canterbury's high country where I learnt my hunting, fishing and bushcraft skills from my father and grandfather.

As the same way of life is passed on through the family to the next generation, our team of experienced guides includes several family members, including my son Troy, who rarely misses a day when he doesn't go for a hunt. To these guys it really is a part of their daily lives and together our guides have over 50 years' experience between them.

I believe our local knowledge is vital in providing the hunter with the optimal chance of securing that special fish or animal and to date, we have a 100% success rate. We've never come back to base with a client empty-handed; we're totally committed to providing the ultimate experience every time we go out.

Specialising in small groups of up to three people (maximum of two per guide) we hunt and fish from our base in Marlborough's beautiful wine-growing district to our high-country homestead in Canterbury, covering from the top of the South Island right through to the South Canterbury region.

New Zealand provides some of the best sighted brown and rainbow trout fishing in the world and we cover some of the best salmon fishing found in New Zealand. We offer red deer, fallow deer, tahr, chamois, wild boar, goats and turkey hunts with alpine hunts for chamois, deer and tahr . HuntFish Homestead, our alpine adventure base, is surrounded by 9 fishing lakes with the mountainous terrain for tahr and chamois right on our doorstep.

So with the wide range of options available to us I can programme your itinerary totally around your individual requirements and skill level. We offer the same service to non-hunting/fishing partners with a range of tours and activities with both ourselves and other tourism operators on offer, including accommodation and restaurants.

With genuine kiwi hospitality we invite you to come as our guest and leave as a friend.
